she/her/hers
Allison Lobel, Psy.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist who believes therapy offers a meaningful space for reflection, healing, and growth. She approaches her work collaboratively and creates an environment where experiences are met with empathy and curiosity.
Her practice is grounded in psychodynamic and family systems perspectives, and she integrates cognitive behavioral strategies to support insight, emotional regulation, and meaningful behavioral change. Dr. Lobel works with children, teens, and adults navigating a range of concerns, including anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, relationship and family challenges, identity development, life transitions, and grief and loss.
She earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, followed by a Master’s degree and Doctorate (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. Her early training included work in community mental health centers, developmental centers, and a therapeutic day school.
Licensed in 2008, Dr. Lobel has worked in group practice settings throughout her career. Most recently, she served as Director of Child and Adolescent Services at a Chicagoland group practice, where she also provided supervision to graduate students and early-career clinicians, contributed to the leadership team, and helped foster the growth of the practice. Although she has extensive training and experience working with children and teens, Dr. Lobel equally values her work with adults and the unique experiences, transitions, and personal growth that therapy can facilitate.
Her work is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves a space to feel understood, empowered, and supported. She strives to offer a therapeutic relationship that honors each client’s unique story and fosters lasting growth.
